Application:
1、Regenerative burner bed applications
2、Heat exchange media
Properties:
Spherical alpha-alumina (corundum) balls are produced by sintering ball-formed calcined alumina at a temperature just below the 3704°F (2040°C) melting point of aluminum oxide. There are two formation processes: rolling and pressing.
During operation, the alumina balls in the heat storage tank divide the air flow into very small strands. As the air flows through the heat conductor, it forms strong turbulence, which can effectively absorb the heat on the surface of the heat conductor. This allows the regenerative burner to switch frequently and rapidly. After high-temperature gas passes through the regenerator, its temperature can reach only about 100°C lower than the flue gas temperature, with a thermal efficiency of over 90%.
Advantages:
Corundum alumina balls are mainly made from industrial alumina. They feature low shrinkage, high softening temperature under high-temperature load, corrosion resistance, high strength, large heat storage and release capacity, good thermal shock stability, excellent thermal conductivity, and low thermal expansion.
